Verdell "Jim" Sadlovsky, age 76, of Hastings, passed away at Augustana Health Care Center on April 16.

Verdell "Jim" Sadlovsky, age 76, of Hastings, passed away at Augustana Health Care Center on April 16.

He was born June 1, 1935, in Randall, Minn., to Michael and Grace Sadlovsky. He married Eileen on Oct. 22, 1956, in Giese, Minn., and Mary Jane on Nov. 26, 2006. Jim served in the U.S. Army. He was a butcher at Swift & Company for 17 years and worked at Koch Refinery for 26 years. He also liked making and flying model airplanes.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen; parents; sister Evelyn.

Jim is survived by wife, Mary Jane; children, Roxanne (Donald Jr.) Koepke, LeeAnn Sadlovsky, John (Kelly) Sadlovsky, Jim (Jen) Sadlovsky; grandchildren, Corey (Amanda) Mathiesen, Samantha Wueste, Jacob Wueste, Chelsea (Benjamin) Wahlstrom, Meagan Sadlovsky, Croix, Ryder, River, and Creed Sadlovsky; great-grandchildren, Scarlett, Isabella; siblings Shirley (Sam) Stanley, Gary (Bev) Sadlovsky, Sandy (Roland) Coller, Gayle Arnold; other relatives and friends.

The funeral service, officiated by the Reverend Percy Damrow, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 202 W. 8th St., Hastings. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 20, at Wise Family Funeral Home, 400 Spring St., Hastings, as well as 1 hour prior to the funeral service at church. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the church.
