James L. Mackey, 83

James L. Mackey, age 83, of Hastings, died Feb. 21 at Augustana Health Care Center.

James was born March 3, 1928, in Rochester, to Francis and Edna. He had worked at Koch Refinery as an electrician prior to retirement and was a devout Catholic, spending much time in the adoration chapel at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Janet, and second wife, Helen; son Joe

James is survived by his daughter, Judith of Inver Grove Heights; sons John, Jim, and Jeff, all of Hastings; grandchildren, Chris S. and Angela, Michael, Joe, Chris, Jimmy, and Blake; also many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters, Franny and Virginia.

The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Cole Kracke, will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. The visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 East 7th St., Hastings, and 1 hour prior to the Monday funeral service at the church.
