Carol Annette Copeman, 64, of Eyota, Minn., died peacefully in her home with her family at her side on Sunday, Feb. 12, after a courageous battle with lung disease.

Carol Annette Copeman, 64, of Eyota, Minn., died peacefully in her home with her family at her side on Sunday, Feb. 12, after a courageous battle with lung disease.
Carol was born in Rochester, Minn., to John and Clarice (Thayer) Reimers on Nov. 3, 1946. Carol married her love, Gary Lee Copeman, on June 10, 1966.
Carol was a passionate, hard-working, and caring woman. She was the "rock" for her nuclear, as well as extended family; and she always gave everyone unconditional love. Carol believed in and saw the best in everyone. Carol's multiple passions were abundant, just like her gardening style. She was an avid gardener and hosted many parties, including the recent wedding of her brother, in her flower-filled back yard. Throughout her compassionate life Carol cared for and helped raise many children. Another show of her love was providing childcare to many families over the span of 25 years. Raising many children from newborn to whom now have children of their own. A child's laughter always brought a smile to her face. She always kept a clean house, even being nicknamed "Mrs. Clean". She cooked and baked for many happy and appreciative individuals and families, and loved to have guests into her warm and welcoming home.
Carol loved to travel with her family and best friend Susan Dornack, and taught her daughters how to camp in the outdoors with comfort. To say that she adored her 3 loving grandchildren is an understatement; Carol loved spending time with them more than words can describe. Carol was an avid participant in the Mayo Clinic Organ Transplant Support Group and often contributed "anonymously" to families facing less fortunate times. Carol always preferred to give rather than receive, and her circle of influence in this world extends across the oceans. Carol was easy to be around, and those who met her felt her love and warmth.
Carol is survived by her husband, Gary, who cared for and stood by her side through many years of joy, love, happiness, and even sickness. Also surviving are daughters, Michelle M. (Troy) Whiting of Eyota, Minn., Clarice "Lisa" Copeman of St. Paul, Minn., and Elizabeth Orner of Hastings, Minn.; three adoring grandchildren, Karisa Whiting of Minneapolis, Minn., Justin and Mitchal Whiting of Eyota, Minn.; 5 loving brothers Bradley (Crystal) Carlson, Donald Carlson, Larry Reimers, Lloyd (Cathy) Reimers, and Tom Reimers all residing in Minnesota; and 1 loving sister, Audrey (Carmen) Pace, residing in Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers John and Gregory.
Carol donated her body to the Mayo Clinic in support of research and education.
A Celebration of Carol's Life will be held 1 – 4 p.m. Feb. 25, at the Rochester Art Center. The Program will begin at 1:30 p.m. and will be preceded and followed by a social reception.
In lieu of flowers, please choose to provide a donation to the Gift of Life Transplant House, in memory of Carol Copeman.
