Claire G. Weber, 89, of Hastings, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 3, at Regina Assisted Living.
Claire G. Weber, 89, of Hastings, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 3, at Regina Assisted Living.
Claire was born in North Adams, Mass., to John and Elizabeth Fee. She completed Catholic grade school, high school, and some college before enlisting in the United States Navy in 1943. While she was in the Navy, she met her future husband, Wallace. Both were aviation metalsmiths. In 1945, they were married in North Adams and returned to duty in Florida. When the war ended and they were discharged, they moved to Minnesota to start a family.
Claire became a housewife and raised four children with Wallace. She volunteered at Guardian Angels, delivered Meals on Wheel, was a co-leader of a Girl Scout troop, and became a home health aide. She enjoyed camping and traveling.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Wallace; children, Tom (D.Ann) Weber of Hampton, Marjorie (Ken) Crea of Roseville, Stephen (Nancy) Weber of Hastings, Paul (Suellen) Weber of Hastings; grandchildren, Tanya (Scott) Wheeler, Tony Weber, Cathy Crea, Dan Crea, Adam Weber, Eric (Hannah) Weber, Brian Weber, Caitlin Weber, Erin Weber; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Catherine Tomlinson and Veronica Whittle; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many good friends.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church of Hastings, with visitation for 2 hours prior to the Mass. Private family interment at Lakeside Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Regina Foundation of the Pauline Memory Unit or to Hastings Augustana Care Center.
