Einer Andrew Theodorson, age 73, of Hastings, passed away Jan. 22 at his home after a 5-year courageous battle with ALS.
Einer Andrew Theodorson, age 73, of Hastings, passed away Jan. 22 at his home after a 5-year courageous battle with ALS.
Einer was born Jan. 23, 1938, to Einer and Elsie Theodorson in Hastings. He worked at Smead Mfg. Co. for 9 years as a printer before joining the Hastings Police Dept. July 1, 1965, until January 1993.
He married JoAnn Nelson Sept. 1, 1962, in Hastings.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Carl A. Nelson.
Einer is survived by his wife, JoAnn; son, Allen Theodorson; daughters, Tamera (Tom) Sophy and Melanee (Terry) Lee; also his grandchildren, Lacey and Lindsay Theodorson, Tyana Sophy, Dakota Theodorson, and Brittany Lee, all of Hastings; step-grandchildren, Heather Sophy, Chris and Tristian Lee; sister, Ruthann Lewis of Circle Pines, Minn.; his mother-in-law, Myrtle (Honey) Nelson of Hastings; and former daughter-in-law, Lori Theodorson of Hastings.
Visitation was held at Caturia Smidt Funeral Home in Hastings from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13. Services were at United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Duin officiating from Our Saviours Lutheran Church. Cremation later at Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lacey Theodorson, Dakota Theodorson, Dan Boston, Dan Jensen, Jason Backes and Andrew Backes.
