Preceded in death by her sister, Marian Paul; brothers Marvin and Marlin Mirsch.
Survived by her husband of 38 years, George; brother Vernon Mirsch; also in-laws, nieces, nephews, other family, and many very dear friends.
Born and raised in St. Paul, Marlene was a former president and CEO of Ramsey Hospital, and was appointed as Commissioner of Health by Gov. Arne Carlson. She also was involved with the Rotary Club and the Boy Scouts of America, among many other civic-minded pursuits.
Mass of Christian Burial at Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, 1414 N. Dale St., St. Paul, at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26. Private interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Visitation at the church from 9-11 a.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Maternity of Mary/St. Andrew's School Tuition Assistance.
