Eldora Wahlstrom, age 90, of Hastings, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Regina Medical Center.
She was born Dec. 2, 1919, to Charles and Helen (Freiermuth) Eiler. Eldora was united in marriage to Lavern J. Wahlstrom on Jan. 4, 1944, at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Hampton. She was a homemaker and also worked at Hudson Manufacturing.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lavern J., on March 15, 2009; son, James; daughters, Dianne and Patricia; and sister, Florence Gergen.
Eldora is survived by her son, Laverne C. "Wally" Wahlstrom (Jennifer Niebur) of Hastings; grandchildren, Deanna (Adam) Zieske, Charles, Amy, Christopher, Brenda, Eric and Ryan; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
The funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. James Perkl, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings, followed by interment at St. Pius V Cemetery in Cannon Falls. The pallbearers are Eric Wahlstrom, Ryan Wahlstrom, Charles Wahlstrom, Chris Wahlstrom, Deanna Zieske, and Adam Zieske. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 E. 7th St., Hastings, and one hour prior to the service at church.
