Vibeke A. Solac, nee Osterberg, age 88, of Hastings, passed away Jan. 31, 2010.
She was born Nov. 7, 1921, in Copenhagen, Denmark. Ray and Vibeke met in Denmark during WWII and continued a long distance relationship before marrying in 1948. She worked as a translator in three foreign languages for the Danish Embassy in Washington, D.C.,
Preceded in death by son, Christopher Solac; brother, Erik Osterberg.
Survived by husband, Raymond of Hastings; sons, Peter (Jean), Michael (Robin), Thomas, Paul; daughters, Mary, Theresa (Michael) Welch; grandchildren, Adele and Josephine Welch.
Mass of Christian Burial was 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 15th St. W., Hastings. Visitation was held one hour prior to mass at church. Interment St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery.
