Heidi, you've offered nothing of value to this discussion, or any else I've seen. I'd say that makes YOU the annoying one with no point for participating here at all. Try a contribution that makes some sense. Try it just to see the difference, k? Thanks...

"Heidi - So is Jack B. Both are from Prescott (I think they are the same person)" Wow, you are some sort of super sleuth.Yes, I changed the B to an M in my name. Sorry for any confusion this may have brought you. "and both can't stand to have an opinion posted that they disagree with (which is most if not all)." You have nothing on which to base that accusation. I HOPE for both agreeing, and dissenting viewpoints. It gives us insight on our neighbors' positions. It sounds like YOU’RE the one who doesn’t want to stray from the status quo. "It is sad that the man doesn't have anything better to do than comment on a paper that isn't even in his town." I have lots of things to do. I am interested in the town and its success for many reasons. I was born here. My children are schooled here and play sports here. I have a vested interest. This is every bit as much “my” town as it is anybody else’s here. "He loves stirring the pot, but never gives his thoughts on how to solve any of the issues he posts on" That is total BULL. I give my candid thoughts for resolution on EVERY story I post a comment to. Every single one. "- he simply picks fights and tries to get people into arguments with him." Again, pure BULL. I have no interest in "fighting" as you called it. These are discussions, not fights. If you want to fight or slander someone, it's YOU who should find a more suitable place, not me. I do no such thing. "It works well. Look back at many of the other articles that have multiple posts - he is always there trying to correct us morons." Participating in discussions will bring differing opinions. Mine are no less valid than yours, buddy. Although I do agree with you that you can come off as a moron from time to time. Good call on that one. "If we all simply ignore him he will go away. Without anyone to argue with he will have nothing better to do but move on with his sad life." Wrong again. I won't ever leave, regardless of your interaction with me, or your lack thereof, and my life has never been happier. Have a coke and a smile. You’re the only one here with an axe to grind…

Brian, you're wrong. I have no issue with people not sharing my opinion. I merely ask that they clarify their position and defend it. This article brought discussion. Am I out-of-bounds for asking someone to defend an opinion? I don't think so. But to say I can't stand when someone disagrees with me is blatantly false. And whichever dullard said I'm annoying probably hasn'y posted an original thought in this discussion to begin with. But I'm the one you want to take out the frustrations of your crappy life on, right? And by the way, I am probably more involved in volunteering in Hastings than you are, so you may want to reconsider the boundaries of "your" community to include those that try to help make it what it could be.

Can I just say that Jack and Jane need to meet somewhere and have dinner. I bet the sparks would fly. Thank you both for the entertainment!

What a very sad thing, an 18 month old has not only died but has suffered beatings. Things like that should never happen. My heart goes out to the family and the authorities who are dealing with this.
