It isn't in our society's best interest to allow prison justice outside of the provisions of the law. If our legal forms of punishment aren't severe enough, that is what should be changed. Endorsing inmate-served vigilantism is in contrast to everything for which our once great country used to stand. Pray tell, what sort of justice should the other inmates serve upon him? Rape? A prison beatdown? Murder? Do you condone this punishment over our court's?

Just an added thought...from what I understand...the inmates in whatever prison...Tyler Hokanson will be placed...will see that he gets the punishment he deserves...and yippee for them!!

The charge for the mother and any of the other family members that were witness to this childs demise (pain , suffering, etc) and subsequent death and they did nothing, is called "Felony Child Neglect." Addional charges should/will (?) be filed against the mother and the family members that allowed this baby to suffer for days until it was to late.

I'm not sure about a good samaritan "law"..it is my personal opinion..when a person is aware of bad versus good..that a person has a moral obligation to step in and change it..however..we both know that most of the time it never happens..people look the other way..it doesn't affect them or their personal lives..they have enough on their "plates" and do not wish to get involved...it has always been this way..and it will remain this way..as far a children being abused..there are thousands that suffer daily...perhaps..if we can save even one child..then we can say our life has been worth living...IMHO

If they truly witnessed this abuse, or saw the unmistakable evidence of the resulting injuries, than perhaps there SHOULD be a law to address this tragic lack of action. Isn't there afterall a "good samaritan" law in effect in some areas of our country that holds accountable those people who could have assisted a fellow citizen in a time of need, but do not? The mother should be held at least partially accountable. She put her child in harm's way just by associating with this psychopath. The child was under 2 years of age, and the alleged murderer is 23? Sounds like this young naive mother didn't go about her husband-seeking mission with any standards whatsoever outside of an ability to fog a mirror. She should have half the culpability for this crime due to that alone, IMHO...

I had the name wrong...sorry...the correct name is Bernard Madoff....as for the people that saw what was being done to this child...the quote comes to my mind is....""All that is necessary for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing"...perhaps not convicted...but they should hang their collective heads in shame....

Who the heck is "Maddox"? And what do you suggest they be "convicted of", Rosemary? Just curious.

The family that saw this baby every day...should also be convicted of something!! Maddox gets 150 years for stealing "money"...this lowlife will probably get 5 years for torturing and killing a baby....shows what our society values the most...eh
