Community Education partnered with Reach Education Solutions to hold a cooking class for young children at the Hastings Community Education Center. The class was geared towards younger children and focused on the steps of cooking, including washing hands, mixing ingredients, and cleaning up.

Scouting for Uniforms

Members of Boy Scout Troop 534 and Cub Scout Pack 444, both of Hastings, appeared on the 4 p.m. Kare 11 news in the backyard on July 6. The boys joined Kent York, of the Northern Star Council, to share information about the Uniform Exchange programs for Scouts.

Hastings native places first in her division at Warrior Dash

Hastings resident Kelly Pechous placed first in the Warrior Dash on Sunday for the women’s group ages 14-19. Pechous finished with a time of 25:37, making her the fastest woman of the two days and giving her an overall place of 23rd for Sunday.

Camp Hastings, part of the Little Log House Pioneer Village, will reveal a fully restored World War II quonset hut at the 21st Annual Little Log House Antique Power Show. The power show runs July 29 to 31.

PITS has carnival week

Playgrounds In The Summer is a program scheduled at various parks in Hastings throughout the week. PITS takes place at Lions Park Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with play resuming at 1:30 p.m. and lasting until 3:30 p.m.
