A just-signed law allows Minnesotans’ voting addresses to change when they tell the U.S. Postal Service they are moving.

"In the last presidential election, approximately 580,000 Minnesotans registered on Election Day – more than half of whom simply needed to update their address information," Secretary of State Mark Ritchie said.

"Under the new system, those that changed their address with the Postal Service since the last election will already have their information updated.

At a time when local governments continue to have their funding cut, this legislation will save money and make voting faster and easier."
