Sorg earns 4-H’s top honor
Gabriella Sorg of Hastings, along with four other high school youth from Dakota County, were presented with the highest honor in 4-H, the Minnesota 4-H Key Award. This award recognizes youth for their excellence in leadership and participation in 4-H.
Upon the presentation of their award, each recipient articulated to the audience how 4-H has impacted their life. It was very evident in all of their presentations the amount of personal growth and maturity each of them gained as a result of their years of membership in the 4-H program. These young leaders attributed their effective communications skills and their ability to achieve excellence in other interest areas outside of school, to their involvement in 4-H.
The event was held on Feb. 20 at the Southview Country Club in Inver Grove Heights. The luncheon is sponsored each year by the South St. Paul and Inver Grove heights rotary clubs. Sorg is the daughter of Bill and Juanita Sorg, and this is her 12th year as a member of the 4-H Klover Klub.
