Planning Commission

The Vermillion River Watershed Joint Powers Board is seeking qualified applicants to fill one vacancy on the Vermillion River Watershed Planning Commission (WPC). This nine-member commission advises the Vermillion River Watershed Joint Powers Board, consisting of commissioners from Dakota and Scott Counties, with respect to implementation of the Joint Powers Board's duties including guide implementation of the watershed management plan and annual work plan and budget; and recommend action regarding disputes pursuant to the joint powers agreement. Commission members must live in the Watershed. The Commission meets on the Second Wednesday of each month from 4-6PM in Apple Valley. This appointment is for a three year term ending December 31, 2015. Ideally, the candidate would be from a township in the central portion of the watershed, but all are welcome to apply. Application deadline is March 15, 2013 by 4:30 p.m. Dakota County citizens interested in serving on this committee should contact the Dakota County Water Resources Office at 952.891.7024 to obtain an application form.
