Marty J. Caneff, 43

Marty J. Caneff, age 43, of Hastings, passed away at home on Feb. 14 surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born on the K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in Michigan on May 17, 1969, to Ron and Vicki Caneff. He married Margie Eischen in Hastings at SEAS on May 1, 1993. Marty loved to play and coach hockey. He enjoyed playing softball, was an avid golfer, and loved his time at the cabin.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Lois Johnson and grandfather Francis Caneff.

Marty is survived by his wife, Margie; daughters, Taylor, Lexi, and Julia; parents, Ron and Vicki Caneff; sister, Tracy Caneff; and many other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. Jim Perkl, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2035 W. 15th St., Hastings. A visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, as well as 1 hour prior to mass on Tuesday. Pallbearers are Brian Radke, Matthew Radke, Jason Berzinski, Brad Stepan, Brooks Savage, and Steve Grams. Honorary pallbearers are Jake Eischen; Grace Eischen, Henry Eischen, Katelyn Endres-Davies, Kaitlin Radke, and Payton Burr. Interment will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
