Inmate charged with attempting to sneak meth into jail

A female being booked the Dakota County Jail apparently tried to bring some methamphetamine with her. 43-year-old Kimberlee Jo Halvorson of Eden Prairie is facing charges of a controlled substance crime in the fifth degree (possession) and introducing contraband – drug/liquor into jail, prison following an April 23, 2012, incident. According to the criminal complaint, as Halvorson was being booked into the jail, she was searched by a correctional deputy. The deputy removed some paperwork from Halvorson’s jeans. Inside the paperwork she found a crystal-like substance that appeared to be methamphetamine.
Halvorson reportedly told the guard she was going to “get rid of it.”
