Lee E. Erickson, age 64, of Hastings, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, at his home.

Lee E. Erickson was born April 6, 1948, in St. Paul, Minn., to Edward M. and Katherine A. (Hodge) Erickson. A 1966 graduate of Hastings High School, he was a wrestler and loved golf and boating on the river. He married Nancy Matz in 1968, and they've enjoyed 44 years together.

His career as parks supervisor in Hastings spanned over 30 years. Lee served two terms on Hastings City Council; served on the MN Parks Supervisory Council; volunteered at the LeDuc Mansion; was voted the Hastings Raiders Wrestling fan of the year; enjoyed feeding the birds and wildlife; was a member of Christ Family Church for 5 years and really liked the pastors and fellowship; and his greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren!

Lee was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather August "Hunce" Goebel.

He is survived by wife Nancy; son Brian (Jennifer) Erickson of Vermillion and their children, Brooke and Brody; daughter Natalie (Todd) Judge of Hastings and their children, Caitlyn and Libby; sister Kae (Don) Latch of Hastings; and five nephews.

The memorial service, officiated by Rev. Paris Pasch, will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Christ’s Family Church, 518 E. Second St., Hastings. The visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home, 201 E. Seventh St., Hastings, and 1 hour prior to the service at church. Interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Hastings. Honorary pallbearers are Leonard Graham, Ed Kranz, Marty McNamara, Tom Novak, Bill Thuet, Steve Mollick, John Keene, Butch Kane, and Paul Kranz.
