Farmers and ag professionals should make plans to attend the “7th Annual Crops Day,” which will be held at Dakota Electric Association located at 4300 220th St. W. in Farmington, on Tuesday, Feb. 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Changing climate patterns are increasing the complexity of crop management decisions. Rainfall variability, from drought to excessive rainfalls and warming temperatures have implications for many decisions, including nitrogen fertilizer management and insect pest control. These and other topics will be addressed by University of Minnesota and Natural Resource and Conservation Service (NRCS) experts. Lunch and a trade show will follow the morning program. While there is no charge for the event, preregistration is requested by Feb. 21. To preregister, contact Phyllis Bongard, Extension Educator, at 651-480-7757 or bonga 028@umn.edu.
