Garden club plans to meet Feb. 11

The Hastings Area Garden Club will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, at the Pleasant Hill Library in Hastings. The club is a community based organization whose purpose is to bring together people with a common interest in gardening as they strive to expand their gardening knowledge.

The club is a community based organization whose purpose is to bring together people with a common interest in gardening as they strive to expand their gardening knowledge.

The speaker for February will be Philippe Gallandat, who has a bachelor’s degree in agriculture/horticulture and is the owner of Swiss Gardens and Landscape, a design company located in St. Paul. He is the winner of Saint Paul Golden Bloom Award in 2006 and has also been featured in the Northern Gardener Magazine. The club is excited to welcome him back as he speaks about art in the garden at the next meeting. The club will also congratulate its new president, Fran Schneider, and thank Connie Beissel for all of her hard work in past years.

Hastings Area Garden Club is open to the public.
