Hike on family-friendly candle-lit trails at Afton State Park

Minnesota state parks and trails will host 32 candlelight events this winter, including an event at Afton State Park on Saturday, Feb. 2. These events provide an opportunity to hike on trails illuminated by the warm glow of candles or luminaries. Park and trail visitors can warm up around a fire and roast marshmallows or enjoy a hot drink.

The trail is 2 miles and suitable for hikers of all ages. Although a vehicle permit is required to enter Minnesota state parks ($5 one-day permit or $25 year-round permit), there is no additional charge to participate in this candlelight event.
