Hastings grad among qualifiers in Red Bull Crashed Ice event

Hastings graduate Adam Gerlach was the second-fastest qualifier at the Red Bull Crashed Ice event in St. Paul on Thursday.
The top finisher, former Gopher hockey player Brian Shack, had a time of 40.81 seconds.
Gerlach finished in 40.92 seconds.
The course this year covers 400 meters.
The top 32 from the field advanced to Friday's elimination round against 32 top international skaters.
