Snow Week 2013 will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 28, to Friday, Feb. 1, at the Hastings High School. The yearly event is sponsored by the Student Council.
The events kick off Jan. 28 with the annual variety show at 7 p.m. While that is considered the biggest activity of the day, there are other ones, including the school store giving away Cheez-Its throughout the day, the start of the medallion hunt (the finder qualifies for a $100 prize), and Pajamas Dress Day.
During first hour classes, it’s “Rock, Paper, Scissors.” The prize is $50.
The theme for Tuesday, Jan 29, is “White Out.” Activities include school story drawings, the boys’ basketball game against Mounds View and the boys’ hockey game against Roseville.
The theme for Wednesday, Jan. 30, is “Snow Gear.” The day begins with a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Activities include the Tug of War during fourth hour. Each $1 donated goes to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. The school store holds drawings. The fun run is scheduled after school and the medallion hunt continues if it has not been found.
“Dress to Impress” is the theme for Thursday, Jan. 31. The school store will hold drawings. Evening activities include wrestling against Forest Lake, boys hockey against Crookston, and gymnastics against Stillwater.
