18TH STREET/TRUNK HIGHWAY 291 IMPROVEMENTS

To Whom It May Concern:

Notice is hereby given that the City Council of Hastings, Minnesota will meet in the City Council Chambers of Hastings City Hall, 101 4th Street E, at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, to consider the 18th Street/Trunk Highway 291 Improvements generally described herein. The City Council will receive public comments on the proposed project scope, features, and estimated costs. Such persons who desire to be heard with reference to the proposed improvements will be heard at such time and place.

A reasonable estimate of the impact of the assessments will also be available at this meeting. Public comments regarding proposed special assessments will be received at a separate public hearing to be held on Monday, February 4, 2013. Property owners that would be impacted by the proposed assessments will be mailed a separate notification for this meeting.

PROJECT 2013-1, 18TH STREET/TRUNK HIGHWAY 291 IMPROVEMENTS

This project includes various levels of street, utility, curb and gutter, drainage, and sidewalk reconstruction and rehabilitation on 18th Street/Trunk Highway 291 between Trunk Highway 61 (Vermillion Street) and County State Aid Highway 54 (Ravenna Trail). No new sidewalk segments are being proposed.

The total improvement costs as of the date of this notice are estimated to be $2,779,400.47

The total amount of the proposed assessment for this project is $227,068.43, of which $42,790.93 is proposed to be assessed to City-owned property.

Persons desiring to examine the exhibits and documents, including the assessment roll or persons having questions regarding project details may visit the Engineering Department at 1225 Progress Drive, or by phone at (651) 480-2334. The office hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Copies of said exhibits and documents may be obtained by paying the cost for such materials. The proposed assessment roll is also on file for public review at the City Clerk's office, located at Hastings City Hall, 101 4th Street E, Hastings, MN.
