A Hastings family is searching for its missing dog, and is hoping that someone out there can help.
"It is Christmas time and I have 3 heartbroken children (ages 3,10, and 14)," wrote Shannon Caneff of Hastings.
The family let its Viszla/lab mix named Charlie outside, and he escaped the family's electric fence and hasn't been found.
Charlie is about 65 to 75 pounds. He is copper colored with golden eyes. He is wearing his electric fence collar as well as his green collar with license tags (unless taken off). He is neutered and was last seen in Miesville.
"The Hastings Police Department has been very compassionate as well as helpful in helping our family during this rough time and I would like to thank them," Caneff wrote. "Charlie is a huge part of this family and our extended family and Christmas would not be the same without him. It is like losing a part of the family and we do not want to give up hope. Whether the news is good or bad we just want to know. We have posted a loss dog report on all of the appropriate internet sites, but no luck. "
Anyone with information is asked to call Shannon and John Caneff at
