Thanks in large part to a strong performance from sophomore Hanna Norman, the Hastings girls basketball team beat New Life Academy of Woodbury on Friday night, 57-51.
Norman scored 27 points to lead the Raiders to the win.
Also scoring were Lauren Thomas, who had 9; Nicole Hollar, who had 7; Morgan Tjomsland, who had 6; Ashley Bayne, who had 6; and Kayla Denault, who had 2.
Hastings is now 3-3 on the season.
Wins have come over New Life, Cannon Falls and Henry Sibley.
Losses have come to South St. Paul, Mahtomedi and Cretin-Derham Hall.
Vs Cretin
Hastings lost to Cretin-Derham Hall on Tuesday night, 57-38.
Cretin had a strong first half, which spelled doom for Hastings. C-DH had a 32-14 lead at halftime. In the second half, Cretin outscored Hastings just 25-24.
Norman led Hastings in scoring with 12 points. Thomas had 12. Also scoring were: Tjomsland, 4; Hanah Martin, 6; Hollar, 3; Bayne, 3.
