Hastings athletes earn all conference, all state and honorable mention awards

Several fall sports athletes at Hastings High School received some nice recognition recently from the Suburban East Conference.

Here’s a list of the athletes and their honors:

Cross country – Zack Benning was named all-SEC and all state.

Football – Zach Mellick, Alex Wiese, Ross Dylla and Zach Wiese were all-SEC. Zach Anderson, Tory Behny, Tony Lodermeier, Brandon McCarthy and Drew Pottinger were all-SEC honorable mention.

Boys soccer – Alex Lewanski was named all-SEC. Ian Johnson and Sam Romain were all-SEC honorable mention.

Girls soccer – Hanna Norman was named all-SEC. Nicole Hollar and Cortney McDonald were named all-SEC honorable mention.

Swimming – Kate Reilly, Abbie Gjelhaug, Brina Kari, Morgan McCullough, Helen Jensen, Allissa Smith, Kelly Leonard and Emily Klysen were named all-SEC. Reilly was all-state. All-state honorable mention status was earned by Smith and Leonard.

Christina Gillard, Mariah Wallace, Breanna Kimmes and Jenna Spitzack all earned all-SEC honorable mention.

Tennis – Hailey Lundquist, Katie Suchmova, Morgan Tjomsland, Annika Peterson and Jill Weinzettel earned all-SEC honors. Caitlyn Judge and Maddie Carlson were all-SEC honorable mention.

Volleyball – Biancca DuFour earned all-SEC honors. Grace Rolloff, Kaylyn Nicklay and Sabrina Astar earned all-SEC honorable mention.
