New feature planned in in the Star Gazette; nominations sought

Behind the scenes in Hastings every day, countless numbers of residents do great things. They volunteer at the food shelf. They mow a neighbor's lawn. They lead support groups. Many times, they and their amazing work goes unnoticed. We are setting out to change that.
Beginning in a few weeks, the Star Gazette is going to publish in print and online a new series of weekly stories called "Everyday Heroes."
The stories will cover the person — specifically what they do that contributes to the good of the community — and it will include a photograph and a brief online video of them.
Now is where you come in: We need nominations. Who do you think is an "Everyday Hero" in Hastings? Write us an email (crichardson@hastingsstargazette.com) or call us (651-319-4500) with your suggestion.
The person could be your father, someone who helped you out once, or someone who volunteers around the community. We will take all the suggestions and then let you know when your nomination will appear.
Thanks in advance for helping us with suggestions for the series and for helping us spread some good news.
