Letter: In support of Mike Slavik

To the editor:

I enthusiastically encourage Dakota County residents to vote for Mike Slavik for Dakota County Commissioner on Nov. 6.

Mike has deep roots in the Hastings community, is a graduate of Hastings High School and has lived and worked in Hastings for most of his life. From car shows to Gobble Gait, Mike is always present in the community and actively supports events that benefit Hastings and the surrounding community. He volunteers his time in a variety of organizations, is a past president of the Hastings High School Alumni Association, and a member of the Hastings YMCA Board of Directors.

As a member of the Hastings City Council, Mike has proven his leadership time and time again. He has established a good working relationship with both his council colleagues and city staff. Mike is a member of the Finance Committee of Council where his experience as a small business owner has been valuable during these difficult economic times. He asks the hard questions, takes his job seriously, and always looks for what is best for the residents of Hastings. He is a proven community leader.

It will greatly benefit the Hastings Area to have Mike’s leadership on the County Board. He will serve the residents of all areas of District 1 well and will provide a strong voice for this end of the county. Please join me in voting for Mike Slavik for Dakota County Commissioner.
