Senior night was memorable in many ways for the lone senior on this year’s Hastings swimming and diving team.
Kate Reilly got the spotlight all to herself, and she took the opportunity to shine.
Reilly has a season-best time in the 200 individual medley, a lifetime best swim in the 100 breaststroke and she earned the school record in the 100 breaststroke.
Her efforts earned her the swimmer of the meet honors.
Her teammates had a strong night in the pool, too, and Hastings beat Mounds View to earn second place in the Suburban East Conference behind Stillwater. Hastings won, 110-76.
Gretta Utecht had a nice night, too, earning a section cut time in the 100 butterfly.
Lizzy Pagel had time drops in all four of her events.
The junior varsity team has its conference meet Saturday.
The varsity team, meanwhile, is preparing for the section meet in Rochester. Prelims are Nov. 8 and finals are Nov. 10.
