Hastings police report preview - Oct. 20 to Oct. 26

• Officers were called to a store in the 1700 block of Frontage Road on the report of a mother who dropped off her 9-year-old son and left for an hour on Oct. 20.

The mother said she went for a walk with a friend.

The mother said she did it all the time and asked what was wrong with it.

The matter was referred to Dakota County Social Services.

• An attempted suicide by a Hastings juvenile was reported on Oct. 26.

• Cash was stolen from registers in the 1700 block of Frontage Road on Oct. 26. The case remains under investigation.

A couple people walked into the store with a key, approached a few unattended cash registers, opened them with the key and walked out.
