Hastings historian Hazel Jacobsen-Theel dies at 103

Hazel Jacobsen-Theel has died. She was 103 years old.

Jacobsen-Theel wasn’t born here, but she made the community home and became a life-long promoter of its history, working hard to preserve the former Dakota County Courthouse, now City Hall, and the LeDuc Historic Estate. She succeeded on both accounts.

She died on Monday, Oct. 29. A private family service will be held to celebrate her life.
