Letter: In support of Slavik, Alongi, Balsanek and Nelson

Election day is just around the corner and I encourage everyone to exercise their right to vote. This year’s ballot will be long, so please remember to follow down to the city council races! And remember that the city ward boundaries have changed, so some of you may be voting for new people and have new polling places.

To the editor,

Election day is just around the corner and I encourage everyone to exercise their right to vote. This year’s ballot will be long, so please remember to follow down to the city council races! And remember that the city ward boundaries have changed, so some of you may be voting for new people and have new polling places.

All four city council ward spots are up for re-election this year. I ask those of you who live in Ward 4 to support me in my re-election bid. It has been an honor and privilege to serve you; with your comments, ideas and commitment, we have met the challenges facing our city. I look forward to continuing that service. Residents of Ward 4, Precinct 1, please note that despite the construction, St. Philip’s Church is open for voting on election day. Follow the signs posted. Thank you for your patience as we build our new addition.

In Wards 1 and 3, I urge you to support my Council colleagues Tony Alongi and Tony Nelson. In Ward 2, I urge your support of Joe Balsanek. All three have served the residents of their respective wards well, and have been terrific colleagues who have joined forces with me, other council members and the mayor to the benefit of the entire city. I appreciate all the hard work they have done, how well they have listened to the residents of Hastings and to the ideas and thoughts of fellow council members. Together we will move our city forward.

And I encourage you to support my Council colleague Mike Slavik, who is running for Dakota County commissioner-District 1. I have worked with Mike the past six years and appreciate his commitment, hard work and passion for public service. I know he will do a good job as our commissioner.

Again, I encourage you to vote on Nov. 6. This is a very important election. If you have a question about your polling location, please access the city’s website for more information (www.ci.hastings.mn.us). Or contact me at: dellingschultz@ci.hastings.mn.us.
