More than 400 students, staff and parents went for a walk Friday afternoon on General Sieben Drive.

They raised more than $42,000 to benefit St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. The annual walk was the marathon for non-public schools and the school reached its goal again this year. The funds are designated for school projects not funded through the general budget.

Reaching the goal also has an impact for Principal Jill Moes. She had told the students that if they reach the goal, she would do what they wanted her to do — put her desk on the school roof and hold her office there for a day.

“I m afraid of heights, but will gladly do this,” she said. “We’ll see what happens if a teacher sends a student to the office that day.”

She extended her appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the marathon and those who walked in the church neighborhood Friday.
