Checks written on closed account

A 50-year-old Red Wing man, Kenneth Ronald Huffman, faces a charge for issuing dishonored checks (aggregating over $500) after he wrote a number of checks from a closed account at a business in Douglas Township.

According to the criminal complaint, the check writing began in May and June of 2011 and continued into the fall. The business sent a demand for payment to Huffman but he did not make any payments.

The total value of the checks was more than $900.
