Letter: School foundation event was ‘wonderful’

To the editor, 

My husband and I were invited to attend the Hastings Public Schools Foundation fundraiser this past Saturday evening and found  this event  very well organized and lots of fun. Heading up this memorable evening once again were Jean Langlais and Leslie Nielsen and they, along with many volunteers, made this money-making event so worthwhile for the rest of us to enjoy. Both the food and local Hastings entertainment were outstanding. It’s no wonder this event always sells out.

The foundation’s yearly  grant process has continually enriched the lives of students in Hastings.

We know that our children and grandchildren are tomorrow’s  leaders, and at our Hastings schools,  these future leaders will be more prepared because there has been money set aside to honor our kids’ abilities in extraordinary and imaginative ways.

Thank you to our Hastings community that made and continue to make this event so worthwhile for our students and our educators. The $60,000 donated this year covered 13 grants that helped our teachers achieve their dreams for their students. How wonderful is that?
