Letter: Whatever happened to free speech?

To the editor,

Dozens of people around the city, including myself, have had their “Vote Yes” on the marriage amendment yard signs stolen or painted over.

Isn’t it ironic, considering how over the last 20 years the elitist of academia have told us we must all be tolerant of others and their opinions even if they seem far different than your own?

Well I guess that only applies if you are on the right side of the issue. By that I mean those of us having a Biblical world view of marriage are being told we are bigots or worse yet homophobes and are accusing us of “hate speech.” This is simply not true. Marriage was designed by God for one man and one woman for procreation. Gen.2:24, Malachi 2:14-15.

Anyone can create their own god but the God of the Bible isn’t up in heaven saying, “Let’s see if we can make a deal.” He’s saying, “This is the deal!”

People are saying, “Times have changed,” but “I the Lord do not change.” Malachi 3:6.
