Letter: Presidential campaign has been superficial so far
Let’s cut to the chase: So far the campaign has focused on superficial issues. Does it really matter that Romney put his dog on the roof of a car or Obama has played a lot of golf? No, this election is about the philosophy of Liberals vs. Conservatives.
To the editor,
Let’s cut to the chase:
So far the campaign has focused on superficial issues. Does it really matter that Romney put his dog on the roof of a car or Obama has played a lot of golf? No, this election is about the philosophy of Liberals vs. Conservatives.
Let me illustrate the difference. Liberals look at America and see wealth as a pie cut into unequal pieces. Their goal is to cut the pie (redistribute) so that everyone has an equal piece.
Conservatives see the same picture, but say “let’s bake more pies so everyone has a bigger piece.”
Who are conservatives: not just business owners, but all those who are working hard or have worked hard, to pay their way and strive to make their life better for themselves, their children and grandchildren.
The conservative is busy trying to bake more pies and placing them on the windowsill to cool, while the liberal is hiding outside to steal the pies.
This is what is at stake in this election— are we voting for Bakers or Takers?
