Board Chair Dan Cater called the meeting to order at 6:33 PM. The following members were present: Dan Cater, Dan Greil, Lisa Hedin, Kyle Latch, Angie McGinnis, Teresa Moes, Vince O'Brien and Superintendent Collins, none were absent.
A motion was made by Angie McGinnis and seconded by Teresa Moes to approve the agenda as presented. Ayes all, nays none, motion carried.
A motion was made by Vince O'Brien and seconded by Angie McGinnis to approve the minutes of the June 20th, 2012 Regular Board Meeting. Ayes all, nays none, motion carried.
A motion was made by Lisa Hedin and seconded by Kyle Latch to approve the Bills Payable as presented. Ayes all, nays none, motion carried.
A motion was made by Dan Greil and seconded by Kyle Latch to approve the Charitable Donations for the 4th Quarter. Ayes all, nays none, motion carried.
A motion was made by Vince O'Brien and seconded by Angie McGinnis to accept the quarterly review of Student Activities. Ayes all, nays none, motion carried.
Good News
Superintendent Collins introduced Pete McGinnis, High School Golf Coach to the board. Mr. McGinnis briefly recapped the season for the board. The Hastings boy's golf team placed third at the section golf tournament was able to qualify one golfer, Nick Tusa for the state meet.
Mr. Collins then announced to board members that for the fourth consecutive year the Hastings School District was recognized by the Minnesota Department of Education as one of only 28% of the schools in the State to receive a " School Finance Award". Collins credited Director of Business, Kim Frey, along with her staff, for their diligent work on the budget, yearly audit and various other areas related to be considered for this award.
Superintendent's Report
Superintendent recapped for board members the key topics at the Administrative Committee Meeting that took place earlier in the day. Topics included:
• Site Goals
• Continued roll-out of the Safari Montage digital curriculum in the district
• Facility improvements around the district and the direction the district may take for the coming school year, including but not limited to tennis courts, track and the direction the gymnastics program should head given the closing the Hastings Gymnastic Center, where we the program had been training for the past several years.
Action Items:
A motion was made by Vince O'Brien and seconded by Teresa Moes to approve a Resolution approving Intermediate School District No. 917's Health and Safety Program Budget and Authorizing the Inclusion of a Proportionate Share of those Projects in the District's Application for Health and Safety Revenue. Upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Dan Cater, Dan Greil, Lisa Hedin, Kyle Latch, Angie McGinnis, Teresa Moes, Vince O'Brien; and the following voted against the same: none. Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
A motion was made by Teresa Moes and seconded by Lisa Hedin to approve the 2012-14 Contracts for the following employee groups:
• Teamsters Local 320, Custodians
• Hastings Educational Secretary Association
• Individual Business Office Contracts

A motion was made by Dan Greil and seconded by Angie McGinnis to Approve the Following Memberships:2011-2012 2012-13

* The actual amount will be determined after the start of the school year.

A motion was made by Lisa Hedin and seconded by Teresa Moes to approve continuing to close the 13th year program to students from outside of District #200 (open enrolled) due to the fact that we do not have the personnel to take care of the planning, documentation and communication necessary to program for 13th year students from out of district. Ayes all, nays none, motion carried.
