Police report preview - Sept. 8 to Sept. 14

Here is this week's police report preview. The entire report can be found on Page 4A of this week's print edition.

• A Hastings reserve officer observed several people running on top of railroad cars near Fourth and Bailly streets at 8:46 p.m.

They were stopped and identified. The matter was turned over to CP Railroad police for further investigation.

• A caller reported seeing juveniles smoking marijuana behind the monument at Roadside Park at 5:01 p.m.

Officers responded and detected an odor of marijuana.

Five juveniles were identified, all ages either 15 or 16. No marijuana was found on anyone. A small amount was found in some nearby bushes, which nobody claimed.

They were all released to their parents.

• A woman called to report that her boyfriend had been released from the jail the day before. He had planned to hitchhike from Hastings to his home in St. Paul. Some 24 hours later, the woman had not heard from him.

He was entered as a missing person.

He was later located when he was booked into the Hennepin County jail.
