Illegal firearms possession is charged

An Aug. 23 execution of a search warrant for stolen property at a residence on Radford Road in Hastings led to a charge of felony possession of firearm by an ineligible person (prior crime of violence) against Bryan Michael Penrose, 27, Hastings. The agents identified themselves and entered the residence and three people were located inside the residence, including Penrose. After observing multiple drug items and paraphernalia, another search warrant for narcotics was obtained and executed.

In Penrose’s room, agents found an MK III .357 Magnum, plastic bags with suspected drug residue, a digital scale and miscellaneous paraphernalia.

A review of criminal history indicated felony theft and drug convictions, check forgery, theft of a motor vehicle and felony receiving stolen property convictions.
