Hastings tennis team goes 2-1 in tourney
The Hastings girls tennis team got its season off to a good start at a weekend tournament in Duluth.

Hastings finished the day with a 2-1 record, including wins over White Bear Lake and Virginia.
The tournament started with a 6-1 loss to Duluth East.
At first singles, Hailey Lundquist lost, 6-3, 6-2.
Morgan Tjomsland lost at second singles, 6-2, 6-2.
At third singles, Maddie Carlson lost 6-0, 6-2.
Sammy Dabruzzi lost at fourth singles, 6-3, 6-1.
The first doubles team of Annika Peterson and Jill Weinzettel earned the team’s lone win, 6-3, 6-3.
Hannah Carlson and Caitlyn Judge lost at second doubles, 6-0, 6-2.
The third doubles team of Abbie Williams and Anna Foster lost, 6-4, 3-6, 1-0.
Hastings then beat Virginia, 5-2.
Weinzettel lost at first singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Peterson lost at second singles, 6-1, 6-2.
Carlson won at third singles, 7-5, 6-2.
Williams won at fourth singles, 6-2, 6-0.
Tjomsland and Lundquist cruised at first doubles, 6-0, 6-0.
Carlson and Judge won at second doubles, 6-4, 1-6, 1-0.
Dabruzzi and Bailey Alter won at third doubles, 6-1, 6-3.
In the afternoon match against White Bear Lake, Hastings won 5-0. The match was stopped early because of lightning.
Tjomsland won at first singles, 6-2, 6-3.
Lundquist won at second singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Carlson and Williams had their matches stopped.
Weinzettel and Peterson won 6-3, 6-3.
Judge and Carlson won 6-1, 6-1.
Dabruzzi and Lauren Mattmiller won at third doubles, 2-6, 7-5, 1-0.
