Letter: ‘Black Dirt is a tremendous asset to the community’

To the editor,
In last week's paper, Tom Braucks letter stated that he hated, in fact loathed, musicals because of their insufferable irrational melodrama and silly plots. Nevertheless, he still enjoyed “The Sound of Music” by Black Dirt Theater. Good for him.
Well, I love musicals, whether it is opera, operetta, broadway or the movies and have seen dozens. I was impressed by the quality of the production, and found the $10 admission to be a terrific bargain. Black Dirt is a tremendous asset to the community.
Mr. Braucks should lighten up a little. Sure plots are sappy, and no one really believes that “boy meets girl, they sing a song and live happily ever after.” But wouldn't it be nice if they did?
