Police report preview - July 28 to Aug. 3

Here is a preview of this week's police report. The entire report can be found on Page 4A of this week's print edition.

• A caller reported damage to his windows and siding in the area of Malcolm Avenue on July 28. Rocks were found in the back of the home, and later the caller reported seeing three young boys with a slingshot shooting rocks at homes.

Screens and glass were broken. Officers made contact with the three boys who admitted to doing the damage.

Their parents were notified.

• A bicyclist hit a parked car and was transported to the emergency room. The crash was reported at 7:57 p.m.

The bike, valued at $5,000, was destroyed.

• A 16-year-old Hastings juvenile was arrested for possessing suspected methamphetamine and marijuana.

The juvenile was sleeping in a folding chair in front of the house.

In the juvenile’s lap was a small plastic bag containing a white crystal substance which the officer believed to be methamphetamine.

Also found was a small bag of marijuana.

He was transported to the juvenile service center.
