The same man who was caught sleeping in someone else's motorhome in Hastings last week was caught again this week. This time, he opted to sleep in a bus parked at a hotel.
This time around, Hastings police were called on the report of someone sleeping inside a bus in the parking lot of a hotel in the 300 block of 33rd Street. Officers identified the man as 20-year-old Edward Lee Mears.
Under the bus seat where he was sleeping were a number of items that had been reported as stolen from a vehicle earlier in the evening.
He was arrested for possession of stolen property and burglary.
On July 22, Mears was arrested after the owners of a motorhome along Red Wing Boulevard found a person sleeping inside their motorhome.
Mears was confronted by the owners, and the police were summoned.
In that case, Mears was cited for misdemeanor trespassing and misdemeanor theft. He had taken some food items and consumed some beer that was inside the motorhome.
