St. Mathias annual fun fest is Aug. 19

St. Mathias Parish of Hampton will be holding its annual Fun Fest on Sunday, Aug. 19. The festival will be held on the church grounds, which is located at the corner of Highway 50 and County Road 47 in Hampton.

St. Mathias Parish of Hampton will be holding its annual Fun Fest on Sunday, Aug. 19. The festival will be held on the church grounds, which is located at the corner of Highway 50 and County Road 47 in Hampton. Activities will begin with a polka Mass featuring Chuck and Jason Thiel of the Jolly Ramblers at 11 a.m. Among activities starting on the grounds after Mass will be a food stand with pork chops on a stick, brats, hot dogs, German potato salad and more. There will also be a dessert stand with chocolate shakes, root beer floats, homemade pies and ice cream.

Other activities on the grounds will be a silent auction, pot of gold, bingo, kids’ games, adult games, a beer stand and slot car races.

You may also visit the country store after Mass. A new feature this year will be classic cars for you to look to view and go back in time. There will be entertainment throughout the day featuring country music singer Ron E. Cash. At approximately 3:30 p.m., there will be a regular auction held with many items for sale.
