HASTINGS, MINNESOTA The Regular Meeting of the School Board of Independent School District No.200, Hastings, Minnesota, was held on Wednesday, March 28th, 2012, in the district office board room.

Board Chair Dan Cater called the meeting to order at 6:33 PM. The following members were present: Dan Cater, Dan Greil, Lisa Hedin, Kyle Latch, Angie McGinnis, Teresa Moes, Vince O'Brien and Superintendent Collins, none were absent.
A motion was made by Angie McGinnis and seconded by Dan Greil to approve the agenda as presented. Ayes all, nays none, motion carried.
A motion was made by Teresa Moes and seconded by Dan Greil to approve the minutes of the February 15th, 2012, Regular Board Meeting and the February 23rd, 2012 Special Board Meeting. Ayes all, nays none, motion carried.
A motion was made by Kyle Latch and seconded by Lisa Hedin to approve the Bills Payable as presented. Ayes all, nays none, motion carried.

Superintendent Collins introduced the Employees of the Semester, for Semester II:

Mr. Collins then introduced coaches from four winter sports at the High School who had participants in the State Tournament this past winter season.

Superintendent's Report
Mr. Collins reviewed with board members some of the changes made by the Minnesota Department of Education with regard to testing for the 2012/13 State MCA Testing.
Mr. Collins updated the board on where the school district is with the Middle School Pool project. Collins told the board they would likely be called together in early April to approve the bids for the pool project and that we were still hopeful that the bids would be competitive.
Mr. Collins touched briefly on the Wireless project at the High School and how it will impact policy at the High School with regard to the electronics students are allowed to bring and use electronic devices including laptops, iPads etc. to school.

A motion was made by Vince O'Brien and seconded by Angie McGinnis to approve the 2011-12 Final Staff Seniority List (available to view on our website). Ayes all, nays none, motion carried.
