Letter: God took care of defining marriage
Tonight we read through the Hastings Star Gazette and for the first time ever we telephoned the people who wrote about the marriage amendment. These people took time to think through the age-old understanding of marriage, and then they actually saw this as important enough to sit down and write a letter for the Opinion page.
To the editor,
Tonight we read through the Hastings Star Gazette and for the first time ever we telephoned the people who wrote about the marriage amendment. These people took time to think through the age-old understanding of marriage, and then they actually saw this as important enough to sit down and write a letter for the Opinion page.
Bernard and I say “Good for you!” We will also vote “Yes” for the marriage amendment because we have been handed down the tradition for one man marrying one woman. This comes from all the generations of people who went before us and to whom this was a natural human act, as God intended it to be. What’s wrong with that? A mother and father are a natural blend of children. Why look for a new beginning when God took care of it?
