Raiders win two more SEC tennis matches

After a number of very close matches in the past few weeks, the Hastings boys tennis team enjoyed a pair of blowout wins this week.
On May 10, Hastings beat East Ridge, 7-0.
On May 14, the Raiders cruised past the White Bear Lake Bears, 6-1.
Hastings is now 7-8 overall and 5-4 in Suburban East Conference play.
In the win against East Ridge, the 7-0 score is somewhat misleading. There were a lot of close matches, with Hastings winning every one of them.
Ben Carlson won 6-3, 6-3, at first singles.
At second singles, Jalen Sneddeker won a close match, 6-7, 7-5, 7-5.
Ben Klimek won a close match, too, 7-6, 6-5.
Zach Mellick won at fourth singles, 6-1, 6-4.
The doubles team of Tyler Mellick and Cody Arndtson won 6-4, 6-4.
The second doubles team of Craig Nielsen and Austin Houska won 6-4, 6-1.
The third doubles team of Steve Roach and Alex Zuzek won, too, 5-7, 7-5, 7-5.
The team section tournament began Thursday for Hastings.
Vs. White Bear Lake
Hastings swept the three doubles spots in the 6-1 win over White Bear Lake.
Tyler Mellick and Arndtson won at first doubles, 6-0, 6-1.
Nielsen and Houska won at the second spot, 6-2, 6-3.
Roach and Zuzek won at third doubles, 6-3, 6-3.
In singles play, Carlson won again, 6-3, 6-1.
Sneddeker lost a close match at second singles, 6-4, 6-4.
Zach Mellick won at third singles, 2-6, 7-6, (11-9).
Klimek won at the fourth spot, 6-2, 6-3.
