The first two games in Hastings High School girls lacrosse history didn’t end real well on the scoreboard, but the team isn’t dwelling on wins and losses just yet.
“These have been some tough losses for all of us,” coach Nikki Riveness said. “We are still keeping our head high and learning a lot from the games. We are going to really try and focus on being comfortable with running with the ball, catching and passing. I know that my girls have it in them, we just need to get a little more comfortable out on the field with such a young team.”
Hastings lost to Owatonna in its opening game, 19-6.
Goals were scored by captain Brooke Francis (three), Hannah Moldenhauer, captain Sarah Peterson and captain Aunnie Putz.
In junior varsity action, Hastings lost 11-2. Grace Daggett scored both goals for the Raiders.
Vs White Bear Lake
Hastings lost to White Bear Lake in the conference opener, 18-0.
In junior varsity play, Hastings lost to the Bears, 13-3.
Gabbie Riveness scored two goals and Daggett had one.
