Police report preview - April 2 to April 8

Here is this week's police report preview. The entire report can be seen on Page 4A of this week's print edition of the Star Gazette.

• A six-pack of Bud Light beer was stolen from a liquor store in the 1200 block of Frontage Road in Hastings.

The man was later located and cited for the theft and for underage consumption.

• Thirty-five cans of Similac baby formula were concealed in a trash can and stolen from Walmart, along with a microwave oven, at 9:16 a.m.

The total amount of stolen merchandise was approximately $600.

The stolen formula is often sold online. Officers are working with other agencies in the metro area to identify the perpetrators.

• A 17-year-old Hastings boy took his mother’s vehicle without her permission. He was later stopped at around 12:11 a.m. He was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and cited for possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• A car was vandalized at C.P. Adams Park in Hastings. The activity was reported at 3:50 p.m.

No permanent damage was done to the vehicle. Someone had taken vehicle chalk and drawn swastikas on the vehicle. The matter is under investigation.
